Description Introduction to the use of common processing equipment.

Final Grade
Chapter Tests-25%, Quizzes/homework-25% Final Exam-30% Labs 10% Attendance 10%. 

1. You will have 4 Major Tests and a Final Exam in this class. All tests and the exam are taken on blackboard during a specified time frame. If you miss the test due date and it has to be reopened, there will be an automatic deduction of 20 points. There are "NO RETAKES". If you miss a Test, due to an EXCUSED absence a makeup test will be allowed if absence is excused per the absence policy and is verifiable. If you are involved in Academic Dishonesty, you will receive a ZERO for that test. Taking the Final Exam is Mandatory to complete the course. Failure to take the Final Exam is an automatic Fail for the course. Lab attendance and participation is required..
2. Homework assignments are to be submitted on blackboard and must be completed by due date, 20 PTS will be deducted if not submitted by due date. Homework more than a week late will not receive a grade higher than 50.

Course Policies
Instructor Policies
1. Cell Phone use is not permitted in the classroom or lab except during breaks. If a student is caught on their cell phone in class, the student will be asked to leave class and counted an unexcused absence for the day.
2. Students that are disruptive in class or sleeping will be asked to leave and counted an unexcused absence for the day.
3. All grades will be posted on Blackboard.
4. The PTAC program has a dress code, failure to wear proper shoes and clothing will result in being sent out of class and counted absent for the day.

I will not discuss your grades over the phone or by email. If you want to discuss your grades, you must come to my office, in person.

Attendance Policy
Research has shown a cause and effect relationship between attendance and college success. Missing a day of lecture can possible cause you to drop a letter grade on tests.
1. Tardiness: Tardiness (more than 5mins), for lectures or labs.
2. Absences: NOTE: Students will need to communicate with me about absences of more than 2 class days to receive an excused absence at my discretion. Excused absences (verifiable) are only allowed for, a personal doctors visit or a Childs doctor visit or an illness that requires a hospital stay, mandatory quarantine for COVID 19 exposure, or a death in your immediate family. 5 absences=drop 1 letter grade, 7 absences=drop 2 letter grades, 9-absences=drop 3 letter grades, 11 absences=F
